[French and German stock indexes rose by more than 1%] On October 2, the major European stock indexes expanded their gains. The European Stoxx 50 Index, French CAC40 Index, and German DAX Index all rose by more than 1%. Italy's FTSE MIB Index rose by 0.7%, and Spain's IBEX35 Index rose by 0.6%.
