[The two departments jointly issued guidance to regulate the use of formulas for special medical purposes in medical institutions] On August 28, the National Health Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued the "Guidance on Regulating the Use of Formulas for Special Medical Purposes in Medical Institutions." The "Guidance Opinions" require that medical institutions should standardize the management and use of special medical foods from three aspects. At the institutional level, establish a management department or group for the use of special medical food, establish a special medical food supply catalog and a management system for each link, and standardize the management process of receiving, using, and charging special medical food; at the institutional level, establish usage specifications for all aspects of hospital management such as procurement, storage, sales, use, and recall of special medical food; in the use link, ensure that the source of special medical food is legal and standardized, implement a sales system in special areas and store sales information, standardize fee management, and encourage inclusion in relevant information systems of medical institutions.
