[The first round of voting in Brazil’s presidential election officially begins] October 4th, the first round of voting in Brazil’s 2026 national election was officially held on October 4th. Polling stations across Brazil officially opened at 8:00 Brasilia time that day and closed at 17:00. Voters will elect the president, vice president, 26 state governors and 1 federal district (Brasilia) governor, 54 federal senators, 513 federal representatives, and state and federal district legislators.
