[Ultra-deep oil and gas production in China's desert oil fields exceeds 26 million tons] October 5th, we learned from PetroChina today that the Hade-Fuman Oilfield, the largest oil field in China's deserts, has produced more than 26 million tons of oil and gas from 6,000 meters below. Recently, the Seismic Exploration Well No. 1 located on the northern edge of the Taklimakan Desert successfully retrieved rock cores from a depth of 8,080 meters underground. These cores have been sleeping underground for about 500 million years. This is the first time that China has taken out cores at a depth of 8,000 meters on the northwest edge of the Tarim Basin.
