Data from the Indonesian Volcano Monitoring System shows that as of October 6, Semeru has recorded 1,922 eruptions this year, making it the volcano in Indonesia with the most eruptions this year. During the same period, a total of 4,946 volcanic eruptions were recorded across Indonesia. Currently, Semeru Volcano maintains an alert level of three. Relevant departments remind the public not to move within 5 kilometers of the crater and peak.
