[Argentine Foreign Minister criticizes the British government for refusing to negotiate on the Falkland Islands issue] October 7th, Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno criticized the British government on the evening of the 5th for refusing to negotiate in the sovereignty dispute over the Malvinas Islands (called the Falkland Islands in the UK). Kilno reiterated the Argentinian government's sovereignty over the Falklands at an event commemorating the 48th anniversary of the establishment of the Argentine Council of International Relations on the evening of the 5th, and criticized the British government's unilateral actions for "damaging Argentina's non-renewable resources." British Ambassador to Argentina David Cairns left the event after speaking in Kilno. In his speech, Kilno also criticized the Chilean government not to cooperate with the British government on the Falklands sovereignty dispute. He emphasized that Argentina respects the basic interests of other countries and hopes to receive the same respect. The words and deeds of other countries will determine the depth of bilateral relations. At the end of September, a plane belonging to a British company flew a flight between Punta Arenas, Chile and the Falkland Islands without the permission of the Argentine government.
