[Houthi Armed Forces Say They Failed Multiple Saudi Attacks] October 7th, Yemen’s Houthi Armed Forces issued a statement on October 6, local time, saying that they had thwarted Saudi Arabia’s repeated attempts to build up forces toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and forced it to retreat. The Houthi armed forces stated that they used 10 ballistic missiles to attack relevant targets. The interception and strike operations caused dozens of casualties and destroyed a large number of military vehicles. The statement also stated that in the past 24 hours, Saudi Arabia launched 66 air strikes and missile attacks against areas controlled by the Houthi armed forces, targeting civilian facilities in Jawf, Taiz, Marib, Hodeidah, Hajjah and Saada provinces, resulting in the death and injury of many civilians. Since the military escalation, the total number of air and missile strikes launched by Saudi Arabia has reached 1,642.
