[The United States plans to impose high fees on international students to work in the United States] On October 8, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced a proposed rule on the 7th that would impose high fees on international students to work in the United States through the "Selective Internship Training" program. This is the latest move by the U.S. government to tighten policies related to international students. According to this rule, schools need to pay US$70,000 for each student to apply for the "Selective Practical Training" program for the first time, and an additional US$30,000 for extensions. This project allows international students holding student visas to engage in work directly related to the major they study. It is an important transition channel for international students to transfer to work visas.
