[The U.S. military’s claim that Iran has “complete control” over the Strait of Hormuz is untrue] October 8th, U.S. Central Command stated on October 7, local time, that earlier that day, a general from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that “the Strait of Hormuz is closed” and that the country has “complete control” over the Strait. This statement is untrue. The U.S. Central Command said that currently, traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is smooth, and all kinds of commercial goods and energy supplies (including 20 million barrels of crude oil) are being transported through here. The United States and its regional partners clearly control the strait. (CCTV News)
