[The State Administration for Market Regulation tightens CCC certification requirements for lamps, ballasts and other products] On October 8, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued the "Announcement on the Release of Implementation Rules for Compulsory Product Certification of Lamps and Ballasts". The new version of the rules adheres to a problem-oriented and goal-oriented approach, closely integrates the industry characteristics, safety features and process flow of the product, refines the quality assurance capabilities of production enterprises, product consistency control points, certification unit division and sampling testing requirements, strengthens post-certification supervision, implements more scientific classification management of enterprises, covers the entire chain of CCC certification of lamps and ballasts, and tightens the main responsibilities of all relevant parties in certification activities. The new version of the rules optimizes the certification mode of lamps and lanterns, and determines three different certification modes for general lamps, large lamps, and single-batch customized lamps, further enhancing pertinence and facilitating different types of certification needs. The "Announcement" clarifies the transition period of the new version of the rules, stipulating that from January 1, 2027, CCC certification activities should be carried out in accordance with the new version of the rules, and valid CCC certification certificates that have been issued can continue to be used. The implementation of the new version of the rules will further control the market access of lamps, ballasts and other products, and maintain the bottom line of quality and safety.
