[Goldman Sachs: Diesel prices may remain high until 2027] October 8th: Recently, Goldman Sachs warned that due to restrictions on refining capacity in various countries and the rebound in demand driven by restocking by governments and companies, diesel prices may remain high until the end of 2027. Nikhil Bhandari, co-head of Asia-Pacific natural resources research at Goldman Sachs, publicly stated: "We need to maintain refined oil prices at a high enough level to continue to form a certain degree of demand suppression next year." The bank believes that in the context of ongoing restrictions on refining capacity, global diesel prices must remain high to prevent recovering demand from exceeding the capacity of refineries. Although the bank expects Brent crude oil prices to stabilize around US$80 per barrel as crude oil transportation in the Strait of Hormuz is expected to gradually return to normal in the near future, weak refining capacity will continue to limit diesel prices.
