[Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission: The increase in cases of "disclaimer of opinion" on the financial statements of listed companies solely due to going concern issues has caused regulatory concern] On October 8, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, the Accounting and Finance Bureau and the Stock Exchange issued a joint statement today to respond to the regulatory concerns caused by the increasing number of cases of "disclaimer of opinion" on the financial statements of listed issuers solely due to going concern issues; the situation will continue to be closely monitored, and appropriate regulatory, disciplinary or law enforcement actions will be taken if misconduct or violations are discovered. If the situation does not improve significantly, the Exchange will consider amending the Listing Rules as necessary, including requiring a trading suspension for listed issuers whose financial statements contain a disclaimer of opinion solely on going concern issues.
