[Thailand’s opposition party filed a motion of no-confidence against the Prime Minister and 17 cabinet members] On October 8, the Thai opposition camp submitted a motion of no-confidence to the Parliament against Prime Minister Anutin and 17 cabinet members. The Thai Parliament is expected to debate this issue in late October. Nataporn Lombanyawu, leader of the People's Party and leader of the opposition party in the National Assembly, submitted a 7-page no-confidence motion to the chairman of the National Assembly and Speaker Sopong on behalf of the opposition camp that day, which was jointly supported by 145 opposition members of the opposition party. The motion mainly involves issues such as suspected fraud in the upper house election, corruption in the local administrative recruitment examination, and the government's ineffective response to floods. Representatives of the Democratic Party of Thailand who signed the no-confidence motion said that in view of the large number of cabinet members who have been proposed this time, the opposition party has requested to arrange a five-day debate.
