[International Criminal Court finds Duterte "fit to stand trial"] October 9th, the International Criminal Court stated on the 8th that former Philippine President Duterte was able to effectively exercise the right to a fair trial in the proceedings and found him "fit to stand trial." The International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands, issued a statement on the same day saying that the Court's Third Trial Chamber made the above decision based on the investigation of an independent expert group and the opinions of all parties. The panel agreed that Duterte is capable of understanding the charges, understands the proceedings, purpose and consequences, and can guide lawyers in preparing and conducting a defense.
