[IDC: Global PC shipments fell 20.1% year-on-year in the third quarter] On October 9, the latest preliminary data released by the International Data Corporation (IDC) showed that global PC shipments in the third quarter of 2026 were 62.7 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 20.1%. This is the second consecutive quarter of decline, and the decline is significantly larger than the 3.8% decline in the second quarter. From a quarter-on-quarter basis, shipments in the third quarter also decreased by 9.1%. The "third quarter was more prosperous than the second quarter" in previous years did not appear this time. The supply side has not slowed down. In addition, manufacturers and distributors rushed to stock up before price increases earlier this year. Demand was consumed in advance, and there was little demand left to be released in the third quarter.
