Ethane is an important component in natural gas and the core raw material for the production of ethylene; ethylene can be further processed to produce various daily and industrial materials such as plastics and chemical fibers, and is the basic raw material for the modern petrochemical industry. Tarim Energy Company, located in Luntai County, Xinjiang, has an annual natural gas processing capacity of 25 billion cubic meters.
