[Brazil sues Shell subsidiary for hundreds of millions of dollars in flood losses] October 10th: The Brazilian prosecutorial department filed a lawsuit against the Brazilian subsidiary of the international energy giant Shell Group on October 9, requiring the company to compensate US$108 million for losses related to floods in southern Brazil in 2024. The reason is that Shell should bear responsibility for the losses caused by emitting greenhouse gases and exacerbating climate change.
