[Four departments: Automobile manufacturers should proactively carry out investigation and analysis when they learn that safety incidents have occurred in the products they produce and sell] On October 10, four departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued a notice (draft for comments) on further strengthening the management of innovative design and R&D testing and verification of automotive products. It is proposed to improve the accident recording and analysis mechanism for safety incidents. When automobile manufacturers learn that safety incidents such as innovative design malfunctions or collisions have occurred in the products they produce and sell, they should proactively carry out investigation and analysis, investigate potential safety risks, record key data required for analysis, and ensure the authenticity and integrity of the data; when the public security organs carry out traffic accident investigations in accordance with the law, automobile manufacturers should provide timely data and technical assistance.
