In Poland, three consecutive incidents of stabbings on campuses occurred in recent days, resulting in one death and more than a dozen injuries, triggering high public concern about campus safety. In order to prevent more school attacks, the Polish police have carried out security inspections on nearly 50,000 schools, are handling more than 230 suspected illegal cases, and detained 76 people. Some of the detained persons were suspected of bringing knives, firecrackers and other dangerous items into the school, and some even threatened to launch attacks on campus. The Polish government has stepped up police deployment in schools and monitors the Internet around the clock.
