[The FAA reminds U.S. airlines to pay attention to Saudi airspace security threats] October 12th, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) notified U.S. airlines on October 11, local time, to exercise caution when flying to or over Saudi Arabia, on the grounds that continued military activities and navigation system interference pose security threats. This "Notice to Pilots" issued by the FAA (valid until December 10) was issued after Riyadh International Airport was attacked successively on the 10th and 11th. The attack on the 10th killed 13 people and injured more than 300 people. The FAA pointed out that these threats may pose potential risks to aircraft at various altitudes, covering overflight, arrival and departure phases of flight, and issued a warning about this "potentially hazardous situation."
