[Omdia: It is predicted that AI functions will account for 12% of network application expenditures by 2031] On October 12, Omdia issued a document stating that leading first-tier network operators are moving towards artificial intelligence (AI) native networks based on their existing cloud native foundations. This transformation is far more than an architectural upgrade, but also marks a fundamental change in the way networks are operated, managed, and monetized. Omdia predicts that by 2031, AI functions will account for 12% of network application spending and will drive global communications operators’ investment in cloud and AI infrastructure to reach US$22.9 billion.
