[IMF raised its global inflation forecast for 2026 to 4.7% and warned of the risk of renewed inflation] On October 13, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) released the latest World Economic Outlook Report. The report predicts that the overall global inflation rate will rise from 4.1% in 2025 to 4.7% in 2026, and then fall back to 4.1% in 2027. The report stated that if the situation in the Middle East remains stalemate for a long time or escalates further, energy and food prices may remain high for a long time and become more volatile, re-stimulating inflationary pressure, worsening fiscal and external balances, and dragging down economic growth.
