[Internal review meeting for flight overbooking group standards has been held] On August 28, reporters learned from the industry that on August 21, the China Air Transport Association organized a review meeting for flight overbooking group standards to conduct an internal review of the first draft of the group standard. According to the reporter’s understanding, under the leadership of the China Air Transport Association, a core working group composed of airlines including the three major airlines has completed the first draft of the group bid. At this review meeting, multiple airlines, OTA platforms, industry experts, lawyers and other parties participated in the review and provided opinions on the first draft. Subsequently, the first draft of the group logo will be further revised based on the opinions of all parties, and will then be openly solicited from the public for comments. Previously, each airline's regulations on overbooking services were mainly clarified in the general conditions of transportation, including information notification, disposal procedures and compensation standards. There is no unified standard at the industry level, and only the "Public Air Transport Passenger Service Management Regulations" provide principle provisions. In actual operations, problems such as insufficient notification of overbooking information, inconsistent on-site handling procedures, and large differences in compensation standards frequently occur.
