[The world's largest sovereign fund may lift investment restrictions on nuclear weapons companies] On October 15, a Norwegian committee recommended to the government that the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, Norway, be allowed to invest in companies involved in nuclear weapons manufacturing. It is reported that this committee was appointed by the Norwegian government, and its recommendations mean that "some European and American" companies can become investment targets. According to the current ethics code of Norway's sovereign wealth fund, its investment targets do not include more than a dozen Western companies, including American Boeing Co. and European Airbus Co., because these companies are involved in the development and manufacturing of nuclear weapons or their components. It is understood that the relevant recommendations will undergo extensive consultation, and then the Norwegian government will submit the conclusions to parliament for a vote next spring. (CCTV News)
