[Lan Foan attended the 114th meeting of the World Bank Development Committee in 2026] October 16th, according to the official website of the Ministry of Finance, on October 15, 2026, the World Bank (hereinafter referred to as the World Bank) held the 114th meeting of the Development Committee in Bangkok, Thailand, and reviewed and approved the "Private Capital Mobilization and Employment" report and the "2025 Equity Review Directors' Report". The meeting was chaired by Elisabeth Svantsson, Chairman of the Development Committee and Minister of Finance of Sweden, and attended by governing representatives from 25 World Bank constituencies, World Bank President Peng Anjie, International Monetary Fund President Georgieva, World Trade Organization Director General Ivera, and others. Lan Fo'an, Minister of Finance and China Director of the World Bank, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Liao Min, Vice Minister of Finance and Vice Director of the World Bank China, and Chang Junhong, Assistant Minister, accompanied the meeting. Lan Fo'an said that the current international situation is intertwined with chaos, geopolitical conflicts continue to spread, and global economic growth momentum is insufficient. As the world's most influential multilateral development institution, the World Bank should better play its countercyclical role, further enhance its development financing capabilities, and help member countries respond to global development challenges; accelerate the construction of a global capital mobilization platform, innovate development financing tools, leverage more private capital, and assist the development of the private sector of member countries; adapt to changes in the world economic landscape, improve its governance structure, solve the problem of serious underestimation of the equity of some members, and enhance the representation and voice of developing members. As the major shareholder and important development partner of the World Bank, China is willing to continue to deepen mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation with the World Bank, implement the new World Bank-China country partnership framework, promote the transformation of cooperation, and provide more public goods for global poverty reduction and development. Lan Fo'an emphasized that since the beginning of this year, China's economy has withstood the pressure and moved forward steadily, showing a development trend of new momentum and improved structure. The scale of the consumer market has steadily expanded, and the scale of imports has achieved rapid growth, injecting valuable certainty into a world with increasing uncertainty. Looking into the future, China will continue to promote high-quality development, expand high-level opening up, implement global development initiatives, and share opportunities and create prosperity with other countries in the world. During the meeting, Lan Fo'an also held bilateral talks with World Bank President Peng Anjie to exchange views on China's cooperation with the World Bank and other issues.
