[Department of Emergency Management: Focus on strengthening safety supervision during the peak season of fireworks and firecracker production and operation] October 16th, according to a press conference held today by the Ministry of Emergency Management, the current peak season for the production and operation of fireworks and firecrackers has entered. Affected by typical accidents this year and changes in market demand, illegal production and operations have rebounded in some areas in recent years. In order to strengthen safety supervision, the Emergency Management Department mainly takes measures in four aspects. First, a national video conference on fireworks and firecracker safety production was held on September 29 to analyze the main existing problems, study and judge the safety situation during the peak season, and arrange and deploy key safety supervision tasks. The second is to continue to promote the special action of "cracking down on illegal activities and combating illegal activities" throughout the chain, and work with relevant departments to guide various regions to focus on the stubborn diseases that exist in all aspects of fireworks and firecrackers, and implement specific measures to "crackle illegal activities and combat illegal activities" based on the characteristics of key periods such as New Year's Day, Spring Festival, and Lantern Festival. The third is to strengthen safety risk warnings at different times during the peak season, and guide and urge various regions to strengthen targeted prevention measures. The fourth is to further strengthen unannounced inspections in key areas and key periods, and use the safety risk monitoring and early warning system to conduct online spot checks to resolutely prevent various accidents and vicious incidents from occurring.
