[Kenya has 4 new confirmed cases of Ebola, including 3 medical staff] On October 17, Kenya’s Ministry of Health reported on October 17, local time, that there were 4 new confirmed cases of Ebola in the country, including a male close relative of a deceased patient and 3 medical staff who had been involved in treating the patient. Currently, the Kenyan Ministry of Health has confirmed seven Ebola cases. According to reports, the three medical staff are two men and one woman, aged 29, 35 and 32 years old respectively. They participated in the treatment of the first patient in the hospital from October 3 to 4, and have been in isolation since October 9 and received supportive care at designated treatment facilities. The male close relatives of the newly confirmed cases have been quarantined since October 6. All four patients first developed fever symptoms and were subsequently confirmed by laboratory tests. Currently, the relevant patients are receiving treatment, and some of them are in stable condition. Kenya's Ministry of Health stated that 128 of the 130 relevant contacts have been traced and quarantined, and the remaining two are still being searched. As the new cases were all confirmed during the quarantine period, there is currently no evidence of community transmission. The health department reminds that it does not rule out the discovery of new cases among people under quarantine in the future. (CCTV News)
