[Live pig and pork prices fell in the third week of October] October 19th, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs’ monitoring of 500 county fairs and collection points, last week (the third week of October, October 12-18, the same below), the national live pig price was 10.89 yuan/kg, a month-on-month decrease of 1.6%; the pork market price was 20.81 yuan/kg, a month-on-month decrease of 0.8%. According to the monitoring and dispatching of 200 wholesale markets by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the average price of pork wholesale markets across the country last week was 15.83 yuan/kg, down 0.6% month-on-month and 12.6% year-on-year. Expert analysis believes that last week, breeding entities actively sold pigs, market supply and demand were relatively loose, and pig and pork prices fell. Looking ahead to the market outlook, pig and pork prices are expected to fluctuate slightly this week.
