[Lombard Odier believes that the U.S. dollar will strengthen further] On October 19th, as the U.S. economic growth became stronger and market concerns about the independence of the Federal Reserve eased, the outlook for the U.S. dollar improved. Lombard Odier & Cie turned bullish on the U.S. dollar, reversing its previous bearish stance. The agency lowered its forecast for the euro against the US dollar from US$1.14 to US$1.09 and raised its forecast for the US dollar against the Swiss franc from 0.83 Swiss francs to 0.85 Swiss francs. It also adjusted its view of the US dollar against emerging market currencies to neutral. This is the latest move by Lombard Odier to further downplay its bearish stance on the U.S. dollar; the agency raised its U.S. dollar allocation recommendation from underweight to neutral in June.
