[Qatar calls on Gulf countries to engage in extensive dialogue with Iran] On October 20, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Abdulrahman Al Thani stated on the 19th that sustainable peace requires regional dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Iran. Pakistan and Turkey should also participate in it and consult with international allies. The dialogue should be based on trust and non-aggression agreements and respond to the concerns of Iran and the GCC. Al-Thani said strong economic cooperation with Iran would be "a bridge to prevent any future conflicts in the region." He also said that any uncertainty in the Strait of Hormuz or other straits will have a negative impact on global energy supplies and markets, and these impacts will ultimately be passed on to consumers.
