[Goldman Sachs and other institutions expect the South Korean won to have further room to rise. The AI boom will bring capital inflows] September 1st, driven by the capital inflows brought by the artificial intelligence boom, the South Korean won has transformed from Asia's worst-performing currency to the best-performing currency. Strategists believe there is room for further growth in the future. BNP Paribas said that as South Korean chip companies bring back funds from overseas to expand production, the South Korean won is expected to continue its rise, but the pace of rise may be slower. Goldman Sachs Group said equity inflows attracted by rising South Korean stocks will also support the won. Natixis believes that South Korea’s export growth will boost the Korean won. Goldman Sachs expects the Korean won to rise to 1,350 against the U.S. dollar in the next 12 months, with the specific appreciation dependent on the performance of South Korea's Kospi index.
