[The trading volume of the national carbon emissions trading market exceeded 1 billion tons] On October 21, Li Gao, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, introduced at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that the national carbon emissions trading market has established the world’s largest carbon emissions trading market in the more than five years since it launched online trading. Currently, approximately 8.3 billion tons of carbon dioxide emissions are controlled, accounting for more than 65% of the country’s total carbon dioxide emissions. The cumulative trading volume of quotas has recently exceeded 1 billion tons.
