[Reports say Musk ordered speed limits on Ukraine’s use of Star Shield last week] On October 21, the Wall Street Journal quoted sources as reporting on October 20 that SpaceX CEO Musk ordered speed limits on the military-grade version of Star Shield, the Starlink satellite communication system used by Ukraine, last week. Musk had discussed it with U.S. President Trump before the news that Ukraine’s Star Shield system was subject to speed restrictions was made public. Shortly after the speed limit news was made public, the two also spoke on the phone. Some U.S. officials said Musk acted "unilaterally" and that Trump did not specifically order any retaliation against Ukraine. But a person familiar with the matter said that Musk communicated with Trump and several senior U.S. government officials before issuing the speed limit order. SpaceX has not publicly responded to the above news.
