[Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Build around 500 national zero-carbon factories and zero-carbon computing facilities by 2030] On October 21, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued the "Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Construction of a Dual Carbon Emission Control System in the Industrial and Information Technology Sectors (2026-2030)", which clarified the key tasks and objectives of dual carbon emission control in the industrial and information technology fields. During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, China's carbon emission control capabilities in key industries have continued to improve, the carbon emission management level of industrial enterprises and parks has significantly improved, the carbon footprint management system for industrial products has gradually improved, and systems for carbon emission accounting, evaluation, and assessment in the industrial and information technology fields have been basically established. By 2030, it is planned to formulate and implement about 400 carbon footprint accounting rules and standards for key industrial products, build about 500 national zero-carbon factories and zero-carbon computing facilities, reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of the added value of industrial units above designated size by more than 17% compared with 2025, and reduce the energy consumption of added value of industrial units above designated size by more than 10% compared with 2025.
