[Matoru Kanda was re-elected as President of the Asian Development Bank for a 5-year term] September 1st, the Asian Development Bank announced on September 1st that in the recently concluded election, the current President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Masato Kanda, received the unanimous vote of the ADB Board of Governors and was re-elected as President of the ADB. Its new term is five years, effective from November 24, 2026. Masato Kanda was first elected as the 11th President of ADB on November 27, 2024, and officially assumed office on February 24, 2025, succeeding former President Masatsugu Asakawa and completing the remaining term of his term.
