[Track laying of the second cross-border railway between China and Mongolia is in full swing and the track laying task will be completed by the end of the year] On September 1, the second cross-border railway between China and Mongolia, the Ganqimaodu-Gashu Suhaitu cross-border railway, entered the track laying stage on September 1. The project will lay two sets of track gauges in China and Mongolia at the same time, using a parallel plan of 1520 mm wide gauge and 1435 mm standard gauge. The total track mileage of the entire line is about 33.5 kilometers. Construction of the Ganqimaodu-Gashu Suhaitu cross-border railway will officially start in May 2025. Up to now, the main offline works of the project such as pile foundations, caps, and piers have been completed. It is expected that all beam erection tasks will be completed in October this year, and all track laying tasks will be completed before the end of the year. (CCTV News)
