[Iranian official: The United States will pay a price if it takes action against Iran] On October 22, Rezai, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said that taking action against Iran will come at a cost. If diplomacy can reach consensus, Iran is more inclined to diplomacy; but if the war continues, Iran has the necessary means to continue to respond. Rezaei said the continuation of the current situation will have strategic implications, including continued instability in energy markets over the next three years. Rezaei pointed out that the continuation of the war changed the situation in Iran's favor. He said that the Gulf countries are rapidly redefining their relations with Iran. They have begun to believe that the US military is not capable of defending their own bases and therefore should not expect the United States to be able to defend their countries. (CCTV News)
