[Shanghai Institute of Optics and Mechanics has made progress in research on low-threshold violet-blue perovskite lasers] October 23, according to the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently, the National Key Laboratory of Ultra-Intense Laser Science and Technology at the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the ShanghaiTech University research team have made breakthroughs in the fields of wide-bandgap halide perovskite gain media and high-performance violet-blue lasers. The study proposes a new preparation route for halide ion exchange driven by dynamic molecular conformation, overcoming the pain points of uneven crystallization, high defects, phase separation, high threshold, and poor stability that have long restricted violet-blue perovskite lasers, and achieving the world's best 423 nm violet-blue halide perovskite laser performance output. The relevant results were published in the journal ACS Nano under the title "Molecule Isomerization Driven Halide Exchange of Perovskite Enabling Ultra Stable and Low-Threshold Violet-Blue Lasing".
