The United States is about to hold midterm elections. Betsy Fischer Martin, director of the Institute of Political Science at Harvard University, believes that this poll is "an important window" to see through the mid-term elections and provides a platform for young Americans to share the issues they care about. The poll was conducted by the Harvard University Public Opinion Research Project and the Ipsos Knowledge Group among 2,024 young Americans from September 30 to October 7, with an error rate of plus or minus 2.61 percentage points. The survey shows that only 26% of the respondents are "full of hope" for the future of the United States; 26% are unsure about the future of the United States; only 9% believe that the current direction of the country is correct, which is the same as the low record results obtained by the same poll in the spring of 2024.
