[Japan’s Defense Minister reiterates that he is discussing the introduction of nuclear submarines] October 24th, according to reports from Japan’s Kyodo News and other media, Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi once again expressed his stance on October 23, supporting discussions on “the introduction of nuclear submarines by the Self-Defense Forces.” Earlier this month, Japan's "Yomiuri Shimbun" reported, citing sources, that the Japanese government would revise the "Three Security Documents" within the year and consider adding content related to "exploring the introduction of nuclear-powered submarines by the Self-Defense Forces." Shinjiro Koizumi has previously stated many times that he “does not rule out any option” regarding whether Japan should possess nuclear-powered submarines. Analysts pointed out that the relevant remarks exposed the Japanese ruling authorities' expanding nuclear ambitions and seriously threatened peace and stability in Asia and even the world.
