[AstraZeneca trial data: Tagrisso combination therapy reduces the risk of progression or death in specific lung cancers by 45%] On October 26, AstraZeneca announced data from the Phase 3 SAFFRON trial of Tagrisso (osimertinib) combined with savolitinib in the treatment of specific types of lung cancer. The results showed that in patients with EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer and high-level MET overexpression or amplification who had progressed after previously receiving Tagrisso treatment, the combination therapy reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 45% compared with doublet platinum-based chemotherapy.
