[Report: The overall profit of S&P 500 companies in Q3 will increase significantly by 29.5%] October 26th, according to FactSet data, about 36% of the S&P 500 index constituent companies will announce quarterly results this week, a total of 179 companies. Companies in the spotlight include giants such as Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft, on which the index's gains have been dependent. But investors are worried about many factors right now, ranging from the sustainability of artificial intelligence trading to high gasoline prices to turmoil in the bond market. Analysts still expect overall profits for companies in the benchmark index to rise a staggering 29.5% in the third quarter, according to a report released by FactSet on Friday. But investors have less room for error, even for companies that beat Wall Street expectations.
