[Iran confirmed the visit of senior officials from the three countries of the Mecca Agreement today] October 26th, according to a report by Iranian state television today (October 26), Ali Bagheri Qani, deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, confirmed that senior officials from the three member states of the Mecca Mutual Defense Agreement, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey, will meet with Iranian officials in Tehran today to discuss regional issues. Carney said that Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan Army Chief of Staff Munir, and Turkish National Intelligence Service Director Ibrahim Kalin will lead a delegation to attend the meeting. Carney reiterated, "Iran's strategic policy has always been and will continue to be: the security of the region must be ensured and guaranteed by the countries in the region themselves. Any interference and influence from external forces led by the United States, as well as various actions of the Israeli regime, undermine regional security and stability." This will be the first high-level contact between Iran and the Mecca Alliance since the escalation of the situation in Yemen and the frequent attacks between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi armed forces in Yemen. Iran has repeatedly expressed its willingness to mediate between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis. (CCTV International News)
