[Nissan and Honda sign joint development agreement] September 1st, according to Nissan news, Nissan Motor Company and Honda Giken Industrial Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Honda") have recently signed a joint development agreement. The two parties will standardize multiple electronic control units (Electric Control Units, ECUs) that form the core of the next-generation software-defined vehicle (SDV), and also include key parts of the in-vehicle operating system, middleware and vehicle control software running on these ECUs. The electronic and electrical (E/E) architecture based on the jointly developed ECU and software is planned to be gradually used in the next-generation SDV models of the two companies starting from fiscal year 2029.
