Li Chenggang, International Trade Negotiator of the People's Republic of China (at the ministerial level) and Vice Minister of Commerce, attended the opening ceremony and spoke at the high-level meeting on "Reshaping Global Value Chains to Promote Growth and Resilience". Li Chenggang said that the current world economic recovery is weak, international investment is sluggish, the global value chain is fragmented and politicized, developing countries are marginalized in the value chain, and global investment policies lack coordination and other prominent risks. China has always practiced true multilateralism, implemented global development initiatives and global governance initiatives, effectively promoted value chain cooperation, jointly improved the value chain's risk resistance through open connectivity, actively promoted the digital and green transformation and upgrading of global value chains, and fully supported the integration of developing countries into global value chains. Li Chenggang called on all parties to build consensus and act together to reshape the value chain that is more resilient and more inclusive. Adhere to multilateralism to provide rule guarantees for the stability and smoothness of the value chain; adhere to open source and openness to improve the resilience and quality of the value chain of emerging industries; adhere to a development orientation to allow the global South to better benefit from the value chain. During the meeting, Li Chenggang held bilateral meetings or brief talks with Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Trade Saied, UNCTAD Secretary-General Greenspan, World Trade Organization Director-General Iweala, and International Chamber of Commerce Secretary-General Denton.
