[6.8 nanosecond quantum operation realized on superconducting qubit] On October 29, scientists from the Jülich Research Center in Germany and other institutions realized a quantum operation that only took 6.8 nanoseconds on a superconducting qubit, with an accuracy of over 99.98%. In a superconducting quantum computer, such operations typically take tens of nanoseconds. This work shows that extremely short quantum gate operation time and high operation accuracy can be achieved simultaneously, setting a new benchmark for quantum gates and providing an important reference for further optimization of quantum systems.
