[Canada releases its first national security strategy in more than 20 years] On October 30, Canadian Prime Minister Carney announced the launch of a national security strategy called the "Stronger Canada Plan" on the 29th. This is the first national security strategy that Canada has formulated in more than 20 years. The strategy says the line between economic security and national security has disappeared. National security depends not only on national defense and adequate resources, but also on economic strength, institutional resilience, and partnerships with allies. According to the announced content, the strategy proposes five major priorities: first, to strengthen economic security and improve its ability to withstand risks; second, to implement a sound foreign policy, promote diversified partnerships and enhance strategic capabilities; third, to rebuild and strengthen the Canadian Armed Forces to defend Canada and its interests; fourth, to strengthen public security and resist criminal and national security threats; fifth, to enhance intelligence capabilities to predict and respond to emerging threats.
