[Institutional forecast: Chinese car companies will sell 2.7 million vehicles in Europe in 2030, and 37% will achieve local production] October 31st, at the 2026 Global Chinese Automotive Elites Joint Annual Meeting and the "China Embracing the World" Automotive Industry International Development Forum held from October 29th to 30th, Eric, a partner of Roland Berger (Paris) Esperance predicts that Chinese car companies will sell 2.7 million vehicles in Europe in 2030, 37% of which will be produced locally. Production capacity will be promoted through greenfield investment and revitalization of idle European production capacity. Regarding the overseas layout of automobile supply chain enterprises, he suggested that Chinese automobile enterprises can adopt a step-by-step landing path such as joint ventures with core customers and gradually expanding their European local customer base. He also reminded enterprises to face up to the core differences in decision-making rhythm, communication logic and work philosophy between Chinese and European business cultures. He emphasized that the EU tariff policy and localization content rules have constituted substantial structural pressure, and promoting in-depth localization operations is the only way for Chinese car companies to achieve large-scale development in the European market.
