The Chinese brokerage sector was among the top gainers, with CICC rising by nearly 9%, GF Securities rising by more than 8%, and CITIC Securities rising by more than 5%; the optical communications sector rose, with Haiguang Xin rising by more than 9% and Dongshan Precision rising by more than 5%. Gold stocks and banking stocks were among the top losers. Everest Gold fell nearly 17%, Minsheng Bank fell more than 5%, Chifeng Gold fell more than 5%, and CITIC Bank fell more than 3%.
