[Wang Yi Meets with Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Bagheri] On November 2, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee, met with Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Bagheri in Beijing.
Wang Yi said that the current war in the Middle East is protracted and spilling over, and dialogue and negotiation are the solution. All parties should act responsibly to the people and history, meet each other halfway, and focus on political solutions in a rational and pragmatic spirit rather than fighting each other again. China is willing to uphold the series of initiatives and propositions put forward by President Xi Jinping on easing the situation in the Middle East and continue to work with all parties to restore regional peace.

China supports Iran in safeguarding its sovereignty and security and is willing to work with Iran to promote the continued development of China-Iran relations.
Bagheri introduced Iran's views and propositions on the regional situation, saying that Iran will firmly safeguard its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity, resist powers and threats, and is willing to engage in negotiations with all parties and actively strive to achieve regional peace and stability. Iran appreciates President Xi Jinping's initiatives and China's consistent stance on safeguarding multilateralism, and looks forward to China playing a more important role in international and regional peace.
